
Kuppam is a multilingual area located at the tri-junction of Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Kolar district of Karnataka and Kirishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu.In addition to the major languages Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Urdu there exists a rich linguistic diversity in this area with many languages spoken by tribal communities. These languages are Sugali, Yanadi, Vagri boli(Shikari), Kuruba dialect of Kannada and Yerukula. Majority of the population in this area are bilinguals or trilingual with Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. Tribal communities speak their mother tongue at home and Telugu for public interaction.
