Five-Year Integrated P.G courses
For the first time introduced in Dravidian University in the state of Andhra Pradesh, these courses have a distinct philosophy to equip the student more suitable for the present job market. The programmes are intended to give intensive training in the subject of his/her choice and thus help him/her to acquire wider perspectives both for research and professional application. The courses are offered with Choice Based Credit System, thus facilitating the student to select two ancillaries of his choice from any of the subjects offered at the university, based on his aptitude.
The Courses are normally of ten semesters duration but if the student is hardworking and takes more number of
credits he/she has option to clear it even early, not less than eight semesters duration and can have a reorientation for a wider range of competitive exams.
The student has another great facility; if he/she wants to exit after three years of study/required credits an clearing the examinations thereof, he/she will be awarded a Bachelors Degree in the subject (for example B.A (Telugu)/ B.Sc. (Maths); after four years of study/ required credits and clearing examinations thereof, an Honours Degree (for example B.A Hons (Telugu) B.Sc. Hons (Maths) after five years/ required number credits, a P.G degree (for example M.A (Telugu)/ M.Sc. (Maths)
As the courses are intended to equip the student more intensively for the present job market, a special training in the form of ASSET PROGRAMME, in addition, at free of cost, is offered.
ASSET PROGRAMME means - Additional Soft Skills for Employability Training Programme. This includes 1.Communication Skills 2.Computer Skills 3.Annalytical Skills 4.Personality Development 5.Career Perspectives. In addition, two credits in Rural Development is compulsory for all the students.
Courses Offered Under This Stream
1. M.A.: 1.Telugu 2. English 3.History. No. of seats 30 in each discipline (one of these being the Major, the student can choose any two subjects as Ancillaries from among the subjects offered at the university).
2. M.Com.: (with three optional specializations 1.Cost Accountancy 2. Company Secretaryship 3. Computers.) No. of seats 30 in each discipline
3. M.Sc.: 1.Computer Science 2.Mathematics and Computer Applications 3. Statistics and Computer Applications. No. of seats 30 in each discipline.
For all the above courses 10% of seats over and above the normal intake allotted to each of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, wherever applicable.
