naaDu Siri: A Folk Museum

naaDu siri

In 2005, the University started in a humble way a folk museum with 250 artefacts representing the folk life of the South.  In order to give an appropriate and viable form to the museum, the University.  The folk museum displays the four traditional styled houses representing the traditional architectural styles of each of the four Southern states, viz Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.  In each house the artifacts of the respective state will  be preserved. It will be encircled by a traditional village fort like structure against the backdrop of a natural hillock and provides an open auditorium in the centre with screening facilities. The symbolic commencement of collection of Museum items was inaugurated by Prof. B. Ramaraju on  22nd August 2005
