Establishment
The Department was established during the year 2000 (May).
Aims and Objectives
Keeping the inseparable and inalienable relationship between Literature and Philosophy in mind the department was established with the following objectives.
· To promote teaching and research in the Comparative study of Religion and Philosophy
· To promote teaching and research in Comparative Dravidian Literature
· To promote research related to the Philosophical perspectives of the literature and the literary perspectives of Religion and Philoosophy
· To promote Comparative studies in all the Dravidian Literatures
· To promote research on the perspectives of Comparative Philosophy in South India
· To offer postgraduate courses in Comparative Dravidian Literature and Comparative Religion and Philosophy with contemporary relevance.
