Prof. Cuddapah Ramanaiah, a reputed professor of Telugu hails from a village Ananta Raju pet, Railway Koduru Mandal, Kadapa. Born in middle class agricultural family Prof.Ramanaih simultaneously acquired eminence by his sheer hard work. He had his school education in RVM High School, Venkatagiri and did his B.Com.., in S.V Arts College and M.A., from S.V.University, Tirupati. His Ph.D thesis ‘A Critical Study on the woks of Tallapaka Chinnanna”, which he did under the guidance of Prof. G.Reddy Channa Reddy, a renowned Sanskrit scholar, won the acclaim of many a critic. He has laudable command over Desi-Literature and Devotional Lyrical Poetry. His interests include Literary Criticism and Classical poetry.

Prof. C. Ramanaiah has several publications for his credit. He has published 40 articles and four books: A Comparative Study of the Siva Tandavam & Krishna Tandavam, A Critical study of Tallapaka Peda Tirumalaiah Sankirtanas ,Tallapaka Kavula Laghu Kritulu (Vyaakhyaanam),The Influence of Annamayya on Peda & Chinna Tirumalayyas.

He has organised many refresher courses and lectures by eminent Professors. He was the Co-ordinator for8 seminars, organised under the aegis of UGC at P.S.Telugu University, Rajahmundry. He has been offering his services to the numerous academic bodies in the country and he was the Executive Council member of P.S Telugu University. He visited Dubai in 2006.

In his professional experience of 27 years he has guided 18 Ph.D scholars and 55 M.Phil scholars and he was the examiner for 35 Ph.Ds.

His experience and expertise acquired because of his commitment towards the work he has involved in and taken up at various levels of his career, ranging from the lectureship at B.T. College, Madanapalli and the position as the Registrar of P.S.Telugu University, Hyderabad made him a true democrat in all his academic and administrative ventures.

Besides these numerous academic achievements and the A.P State Government’s Best Teacher Award for the year 1997, he has organised state-wide Music and Dance Festivals, State-level Padya Nataka Ustavalu. He had been instrumental in extending Cash Awards to the Artist in the rural areas. He has organised a mega monthly cultural event, which had been converted into a weekly program, due the overwhelming response it got from both the novice and connoisseurs of arts and culture in Hyderabad.
