About The Department :
Department of Education and HRD is established in the Year 2003 and is organizing Teaching, Training, Research and Extension programmes. It is offering B.Ed., and M.Ed., Courses apart from M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. The Department is also doing pioneering work on Inclusive Education, Disability Studies and Value Education by organizing Orientation and Refresher Courses to the In-service teachers apart from organizing Seminars/Workshops/Symposiums/Conferences, for dissemination of recent knowledge and skills to the professionals working in the fields of education. The Department is brining an Half Yearly Journal of Research and Practice in Education with a view to document and disseminate the empirical and theoretical innovations and educational research across the country

Facilities :
Library : The Department is provided with reading room cum library with nearly 150 books relevant to education so as to make it convenient for students refference.
Laboratories :

The Department is facilitated with all necessary laboratories according to NCTE norms.
i. Well furnished ICT Laboratory equipped with nearly 25 systems with broadband connection is available in the department.
ii. Psychology Laboratory is provided with many inventories rating scales and other equipment necessary to handle educational Psychology.
iii. Well equipped Mathematics Laboratory consisting of charts depicting various concepts readily available to use as teaching aids by student teachers in their practice teaching, different mathematical models & other necessary equipment are also available for effective teaching.
iv. Biological Sciences Laboratory Facilitates students to perform activities such as dissection and display of various teaching learning material. It also provides specimens of plant & animal material, charts, models and also microscopes for utilisation by students.
v. Physical Sciences Laboratory is well furnished with all the apparatus to handle the practicum related to both physics and chemistry subjects.
vi. Social Sciences Laboratory is provided with spacious room to display the TLM developed by students along with equipment to handle the methods of teaching social sciences effectively.
vii. Language Sciences Laboratory is provided with various charts prepared by student teachers displaying various scenes from the stories available in the high school language text books. Even the lab is furnished with some literary contributions by various authors.
